Isaiah 61:7

"Instead of their shame my people will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace they will rejoice in their inheritance; and so they will inherit a double portion in their land, and everlasting joy will be theirs."

Why do I have this scripture here? It has a lot of meaning to me and it can teach you a lot about life. Even if your Christian or even if your not, I feel you can learn a lot from this exert. I believe that things happen for a reason, the good and the bad, and that no matter the amount of pain and suffering you might have felt in your life, you will receive twice the happiness in the end. So think twice the next time you have a bad day, life only gets better! ~NDW

My Shadow

My shadow wears his heart on the outside

He lingers as a reminder of all my past mistakes

A constant remembrance of the things I wish to forget

And he knows my weaknesses

He is the same shape as me

Every move, action, and sin he repeats

My shadow is a haunting memory

Reminding me the loss of a loved one

And as the old sun disappears

My shadow grows into night

The Empty Abyss

There are echoes in the empty abyss
They cry for a second chance
But the abyss just repeats what wishes to be heard
They scream for forgiveness of their sins
But the abyss just reverberates the broken promises of forgotten saints
All because darkness is jealous of light
Since light has what darkness does not
Darkness just has echoes in the empty abyss
The empty abyss of lost causes

The Boy @ the Restaurant

Once a teacher told my class a little life story. I would like to share it with you and I'll retell it the best I can...

"A boy once walked into a restaurant. He sat at a table by himself until a waitress noticed him. 'How much is an ice creams sundae?' he asked. The waitress who was quite busy replied '55 cents.' The boy pulled some coins out of his pocket and analyzed them closely. The boy than asked 'How much is a dish of plain ice cream?' The waitress was becoming impatient with the young boy's questioning and hastily replied '40 cents.' The boy asked politely for a dish of plain ice cream and so the waitress got him a bowl of plain ice cream. She left him the bill and forgot about the young boy. She never checked on him after that since she had many other costumers more important than the boy. After the busy rush, the waitress went over to clean up the dish the child had left. She than sat at the table and began to weep. On the table next to the dish was a dime and a nickel."

For those who haven't caught the story's meaning, the boy had 55 cents in his pocket, but knowing that he had to tip the waitress, he went with the plain ice cream for 40 cents. Obviously, this story took place a few decades ago, but how many of us would actually sacrifice in order to help out those who serve us? Just a little food for thought the next time you get a little too busy in life. Remember not everything is about your needs, it's others needs as well. ~NDW
